Corynne Courpas is a lifelong public servant at heart, a Carroll County resident, and a proud community volunteer running for the Maryland House of Delegates in District 42C.

Corynne’s passion for civic responsibility began early. When she was nine years old, her parents allowed Corynne and her sisters to run a lemonade stand, with one condition: every dollar they earned would be donated to a cause. They chose to support the creation of the Kennedy Library in Boston. Decades later, visiting that library became a powerful full-circle moment, reminding Corynne that service and civic engagement are values that last a lifetime.

Corynne has lived, worked, and nurtured deep roots in Carroll County for most of her life. She grew up in a small business household, watching firsthand how regulations and rising health insurance costs can strain families and employers. Later in her career, she saw those same challenges affect local businesses at a larger scale, reinforcing her belief that Maryland must do more to support working families and small businesses.

Since retiring in 2020, Corynne consistently has given back to her community through volunteer service, building relationships across the county and earning a reputation as a thoughtful listener, and steady problem solver. She is proud to have the support of many former colleagues in the foodservice industry, along with the staff and board members of the community organizations she has served.

Corynne is running because she believes these are extraordinary times, and Carroll County needs leaders who will show up, listen, and do the work. She understands the pressures families face: the rising cost of housing, student loans, childcare, and energy bills, as well as growing concerns about the future of local schools. She is also committed to protecting Carroll County’s farms, historic properties, and communities as conversations continue around the proposed MPRP route and energy infrastructure.

District 42C, created in 2022, includes 14 precincts in the eastern portion of Carroll County. This encompasses parts of Westminster. Finksburg, and Lineboro, and all of Hampstead.
